چکیده
Objective: To explore the expression of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cell (Treg) and Foxp3 in peripheral blood of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its clinical significance by performing a casecontrol study. Methods: Eighty-two COPD patients treated in our hospital from Jan 2013 to Jun 2014 were enrolled as case group and 76 healthy individuals as control group. All the subjects underwent pulmonary function testing. Expression of Treg in peripheral blood was detected by Flow cytometry (FCM); serum concentration was detected by Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay (ELISA); and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to detect the mRNA expression of Foxp3; finally related statistical analysis was carried out by using SPSS 18.0 software package. Results: A significant decrease of PEV1 and PEV1/FVC levels was found in patients with COPD when compared with control group (P < 0.01); comparing with control group, expressions of CD4+ Treg and CD4+CD25+ Treg were significantly decreased (P < 0.01), also the percentage of CD4+CD25+ Treg in CD4+ Treg was lower (P < 0.01); when compared to control group, the concentration of IL-10 and TGF-β was also decreased in COPD patients (P < 0.05); comparing with control group, expression of both Foxp3 mRNA and Foxp3 protein in COPD patients were significantly decreased (both P < 0.01). Conclusion: The population of CD4+CD25+ Treg cells and serum concentration in patients with COPD were decreased and Foxp3 genetic expression decreased as well.

Evaluation of Regulatory T Cells in Patients with Acute and Chronic Brucellosis
Background: Brucellosis is one of the most common chronic diseases, with widespread distribution. In spite of cell-mediated immunity (CMI) modulated mainly via activated T-helper type 1 (Th1) cells, brucellosis can advance to chronic disease in about 10-30% of cases. Regulatory T cells (Treg cells) are involved the immune response to brucellosis; however, their role, particularly in...

Background: Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death from malignancy in women. CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T (Treg) cells are a subset of T lymphocytes with great inhibitory impact on immune response. Objectives: To investigate the percentage of CD4 +CD25+FoxP3+ regulatory T cells in the peripheral blood of the Iranian patients with epithelial ovarian cancer compared to healthy women ...
متن کاملNumerical status of CD4+CD25+FoxP3+ and CD8+CD28- regulatory T cells in multiple sclerosis
Objective(s): Regulatory T cells, including CD4+CD25+Fox3+ and CD8+CD28- cells play an important role in regulating the balance between immunity and tolerance. Since multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory autoimmune disease, regulatory T cells are considered to be involved in its pathogenesis. In this study, we investigated the circulatory numbers of the two mentioned types of regulatory T cells...

Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is a T cell mediated autoimmune disease targeting the insulin-producing β cells within pancreatic islets. Autoimmune diseases may develop as a consequence of altered balance between regulatory (Tregs) and autoreactive T cells. Objectives: To evaluate Treg cells frequency and suppressive function in the peripheral blood of newly diagnosed T1D patients in compari...

Background: Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting large and medium arteries. CD4+ T cells are known to play a role in the progression of the disease. CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ natural Treg (nTreg) cells seem to have a protective role in the disease and their reduction in acute coronary syndrome is recently shown. Objective: To investigate the frequency of nTreg subsets in the pe...
